This composition combines two of the themes that have run through my life, flowers and mountains.
The rose was photographed in my front garden, grown by my husband Bob, Mr. Green Thumb.
The background water is of Crystal Lake, south of Ouray, Colorado. In September 2004, I was driving south towards Silverton through the San Juan Mountains on Highway 550. The afternoon sunlight sparkled on the surface of the lake. I pulled over and scrambled up the embankment to capture this shot of Crystal Lake and Red Mountain lightly covered in snow.
