In the spring of 2005 wildflowers bloomed all over Socorro County putting on a spectacular show that I had not witnessed in the 18 years I have lived here. Flowers I had never seen before sprung up through the hard stony desert floor. One such flower was Desert Larkspur that blossomed southwest of town on a small hillside along with Desert Marigold, Yellow Woolly Whites and White Tackstem.
